They obviously have an LA stylist...

Azeem aka Mark Ultra from the Band 'Creme De La Ultra'
I don't know what band I'm watching yet, but everytime I stare at the screen I want to vomit. First of all, dudes skinny jeans are so tight, he prolly have  a yeast infection before the show is over.
(No he did not just say "jump!")

2nd Dude -the lead singer, can't sing. Whisper talking doesn't count..please understand, I'm not hate'in. I'm merely  evaluating  craftsmanship which is being presented as high quality yet, infact there is nothing unique, here.
No special techniques, or rare material. Just the same cheap designs renamed.

They obviously have an LA stylist.
As usual the drummer seems to be the only one able to pull it off.
And you already know the keyboard player looks like a bad duran duran meets  david ducoffany  elevator accident love child..whom I wish to strangle. I don't know why. Its just an instinct.

But back to the singer...
Now, I have no idea what Axel Rose would sound singing a Bob Dylan song while defecting.
I am not a fan of Axel Rose, have none of his albums and have no reason in the world to have him ever be on my mind. The fact that this singer placed such an image in my mind should be disturbing to us all.

The crazy part is, its a live concert
in some european country
And there are at least 50 thousand people out there
And that's the part that gets me
So I'm thinking I either want to buy one of this bands t-shirts, and then jump infront of a train in it, or roll the dice at being the simplest most repeating myself'ist rock star the world has ever seen BEcause - if THIS
Is considered even okay much less
Green Lighted all the way to a Live MTV concert in Malta (they just said it)
With over 50 thousand people...
I'm just sayin, its  temptin..
I don't have to really play a guitar
I could just wear one on stage..
And as long as I sing about love
From a teenage perspective
And keep everything else below the waist....
I may just get that Black Hawk Helicopter I always wanted.
But, I'm not doin the skinny jeans tho..
Looks painful...

Azeem's (aka Mark Ultra) Random Quotes. With Translations (for the uninitiated listener)

" People say my  lyrics go over the average listeners heads. To be honest, there was a time when I tried to "dumb it down" and guess what? It sounded terrible. I ceased being an artist. All we can do is be ourselves otherwise we have nothing unique to offer. So I never tried to be "deep". I'm just saying what pops into my head like the next song writer..we just might be on two separate frequencies.." -Azeem

Most of these quotes are from the Creme De La Ultra album 'The Best of The Beyond'

This will be a weekly series...
Random Quotes w Translations (for the uninitiated listener)

~

Quotes- "All time greatest? Nope. The Devils a Goat from the G.od O.f A.ll T.hings
Come my rebelish quotes..."

Translation- Not long ago, a lot of  rappers were claiming to be GOAT's or
" Greatest Of All Times.." But Allah is the true and only Greatest anything...
Even though the pagan symbol of Satan is.. A goat formed from a pentagram.

~

Quote-" I aint stopping till I call my helicopter up to get me. Like- "come swoop me, you a mile away, page me. I want 40 acres and a Black Hawk- PAY ME!"

Translation- That's from the song "My People" aka (I)F U pay me (Feat Kumasi). The line refers to the "40 Acres and a Mule"
Africans were supposed to receive for their labor in America. I don't need a mule. I take a Black Hawk though. Fully loaded.

~

Quote- "You can take this sideways, get over it or under-stand. A colic baby I been abused by uncle sam"

Translation- You can take this all sensitive and funny style, or  just be like "whatever",
Or, really feel me. There is still injustice and inequality in America. Who feels it knows..

~

Quote- "I don't know no better. My lyrics just get up and breathe. The street is metal all my people got magnetic knees. You could leave with a medical need or a mental disease. Because the world is the devils machine"

Translation- My lyrics are alive. My people seem to be stuck to the ways of the street. If you get caught up in it, you could end up damaged because its a system built on materialism and evil..

~

Quote- "All the lyrics are pictures. I wrote this Image so you See what a Prince is. Another way to depict it- that tunnel with that Light - you can see from a dis-tance. Where flames and black fists lift, in a sentence and crush the metropolis..YUP, just as predicted.
That's a beautiful vision. I just painted Armageddon and made it sound like heaven..."

Translation
That light at the end of the tunnel may not be what you think it is....
"Not even di dog dat piss pon di wall of Babylon can escape its judgement!"

A Review by -Jean Pierre Moore

My thoughts on the new group Creme De La Ultra...

If u only listen to one type of music, u suck.  The only exception to that universal fact, applies to those rare geniuses who hear music in only two categories: good music and bullshit.  Unfortunately, we humans have a tendency to place genres and sub-categories on everything. If someone says, "I'm Rasta" or "Muslim," people want to know what "kind" of Rasta, or Muslim?  Orthodox?  12 Tribe, BoBo? Sunni, Shia, (American) N.O.I?

Independent music is no exception. Since the days of Fishbone (arguably the most influential indie group in modern history), labeling and categorizing music has deceived many and kept real gems from people who choose their music based on these limited definitions.   Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix are great examples of this kind of labeling restriction because both artists were so much bigger than the categories and boundaries they were placed in.

Similarly, fans of great literature and poetry may be missing out on some of the most innovative and talented writers of the century who are categorized as and limited to the sub-genre of Hip Hop or its larger label, Rap Music.

The upcoming Creme De La Ultra project . . .  This is Not a Conspiracy (Working Title) is a great example of independent music that ignores the boundaries and the bullshit... somehow, without being contrived, there is something on this record for everyone...

"I speak another language/ my parents is Jamaicans/ Shout out to my New Orle-ans and all my Haitians/ Heavy is the weight of your trials and tribulations"... raps Azeem in the CDLU anthem STRANGE LOVE, addressing a wider audience while ignoring both boundary and boarder.

Azeem goes on to spit, "Now everybody crying cause they ain't seeing no pay check/ Sky scrapper lookin' like a modern day slave ship."  Lyrical testimony like this makes you reflect that yes the economy is bad, but guess what? Bad times make great artists. Just look at the music made during the Reagan era and you will see. Today is no different and Strange Love says it again with . . . "Y'all need Morpheus man/ We in the Matrix/ Some say money is the only way to escape this/ That's crazy like waitin' for a space ship.....Only love can break the chains and save us!"

If you only listen to one type of music, u suck. THIS IS NOT a CONSPIRACY...
